In this blog, I like to discuss whether to choose a fucoidan supplement in the form of a capsule or liquid. Before that, I will share the advantage and disadvantages of both forms.
The advantage of a capsule form of fucoidan is a convenient way to provide powdered herbs because it conceals unpleasant tastes or textures. Additionally, capsule form is easy to store than liquid, and it is also easy to carry during travels.
On the other hand, the liquid form of fucoidan contains a higher absorption rate of vitamins than solid pills and capsules. The liquid form of a fucoidan supplement is absorbed into the bloodstream immediately after ingestion. And as for liquid form, a higher concentration is possible. However, when traveling, it is difficult to carry around with you.
According to the NPO research institute of Fucoidan in Japan, it created the liquid form of fucoidan supplement for people who had severe illness and lost their appetite. Also, since the capsules form was hard to swallow, they created a liquid form of fucoidan for the ease of consumption.
Both liquid and capsule form of fucoidan has its advantage and disadvantage. I think people should choose the liquid or capsule according to the progress of each illness and for the prevention of a certain disease.
However, there is a minor issue with a fucoidan liquid supplement product. Since most fucoidan liquid products are diluted by water, the amount of fucoidan’s sulfated polysaccharide will be lesser than the capsule form of fucoidan. Thus the technology and research are required to study this issue further and resolve this problem. Additionally, the diluted product must be reconstituted to its original sulfated polysaccharide form. However, some fucoidan liquid products are sold as diluted with water.
When purchasing fucoidan in liquid form, I think you have to pay attention and ensure there is a sufficient amount of sulfated polysaccharide.
